Is Jordan safe for tourists?

Yes — Jordan is considered one of the safest countries in the region. Most tourist areas like Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea are very safe.
Like any destination, it’s still important to use common sense, avoid isolated areas at night, and respect local culture.

How many days do you need in Jordan?

We recommend at least 7–10 days for a good first trip. This gives you enough time to visit Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and Jerash.
If you have less time, a 4–5 day itinerary is still possible, but you’ll need to focus on fewer locations.

Is it better to rent a car or use tours?

Renting a car is the best option if you want freedom and flexibility. Roads are generally good, and driving between major tourist destinations is straightforward.
However, for some areas like Wadi Rum, it’s better to hire a local Bedouin guide or join an organized tour.

Is Jordan expensive?

Jordan can be moderate to expensive compared to some nearby countries, especially for entrance fees. But with good planning, it’s still possible to travel Jordan on a budget. Eating local food, staying in mid-range hotels, and using the Jordan Pass can reduce your costs significantly.

What is the best time to visit Jordan?

The best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). The weather is perfect for Petra, hiking, and desert adventures. Summer can be very hot in Wadi Rum and Aqaba, while winter can be cold in Amman and the mountains.

Do you need cash in Jordan?

Yes. While hotels and restaurants in Amman often accept cards, many small shops, local restaurants, and tourist services still prefer cash.
We recommend carrying Jordanian dinars (JOD) daily, especially when traveling outside the city.
