Skiing

Sölden offers extensive skiing and snowboarding opportunities.

Primarily on two glaciers, Rettenbachferner and Tiefenbachferner, as well as the Giggijoch and Gaislachkogl ski mountains.

The glacier ski area allows for skiing from autumn to spring, and is connected to the other areas by lifts.

Climate

Sölden in Austria experiences a classic alpine climate, characterized by cold, snowy winters and mild, sunny summers.

The valley's central location within the Alps, protected by surrounding mountains, results in a fairly mild climate with relatively low precipitation.

Temperatures in winter can range from -4°C to -9°C, with significant snowfall due to the alpine location. while summer temperatures can reach highs of 25°C, with sunshine being common.

The region receives moderate rainfall throughout the year, with the highest precipitation occurring in the summer months.

Budget

Sölden is generally not considered a budget-friendly ski resort.

While there are a range of accommodation options, from budget hotels to luxury hotels, the overall cost of a ski trip to Sölden, including lift passes, equipment rentals, and dining, tends to be higher than at other Austrian resorts.
